A3 is a paper format in A series paper, A series paper is the most commonly used paper series in the ISO 216 international paper standard, the width of the A3 paper is 297mm(11.7 inches) and the height is 420mm(16.5 inches).

Taking our commonly used credit cards as a reference, the size of the credit card is 85.6 mm x 53.98 mm (3.4 in X 2.1 in). The paper size of A3 format is approximately 3.5 times the width of the credit card and approximately 7.8 times the height of the credit card.

ISO 216 is an international standard is a universal standard all over the world except in North America (the United States and Canada) and parts of Latin America.
