In Japan, the Mondopoint system (The Mondopoint system measured in millimeters and it's based on average foot length and foot width.) is used by the national standard Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) S 5037:1998. This system is simple and easy to understand. It is also used as the main shoe size measurement system in the Soviet Union, Russia, East Germany, China, Japan and other Asian countries. The foot length is indicated in centimeters; an increment of 5 mm. Foot length and foot circumference are taken into account.
