Tokyo Dome Size And Layouts

Opened in 1988, Tokyo Dome is Japan's first air-supported dome that supports the membrane roof by air pressure difference. The stadium features an egg-shaped roof, covered with a flexible membrane, which generally controls the air pressure inside the stadium to be 0.3% higher than outside the dome to maintain the egg-shaped shape. Tokyo Dome covers 4.67 hectares (about 11.5 acres) and is almost 62 meters (292 ft) high from the playing field to the roof.
